Terms of use
Last updated 30 August 2026
These terms govern the use of Legal Workspace. They apply to the firm that subscribes and to everyone who signs in under that subscription. Where a firm has signed a separate written agreement with us, that agreement takes precedence over anything here that contradicts it.
The account
A firm’s administrator decides who may sign in, what each person may see, and when access ends. Sign-in credentials are personal and are not to be shared; a member who believes theirs has been compromised should tell their administrator, who can end the session immediately.
The firm’s content
Everything a firm puts into its workspace remains the firm’s. We claim no ownership of it and do not use it to train models. We access it only as needed to run the service, to fix a problem the firm has reported, or where the law requires it.
The firm is responsible for what it puts in and for the arrangements it makes for it — including whether a matter is restricted, who is walled off it, and which documents may be shared with a client. The application enforces those decisions; it does not make them.
Connected accounts
Connecting an external account, such as Google Drive, is done by the person whose account it is. You should connect only an account you are entitled to use for firm work, and you should understand that bringing a file into a matter makes a copy the firm holds and other people on that matter can read. What the application does with a connected account is described in the privacy policy.
The assistant
The assistant produces generated text. It is not legal advice, it is not a substitute for professional judgement, and it can be wrong in ways that read as confident. Every answer must be verified against the underlying documents before it is relied on, and any action it proposes takes effect only when a person approves it.
Availability
We aim to keep the service running and to give notice before planned interruptions, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Ending it
A firm may stop using the service at any time and may ask for its content to be exported before its workspace is closed. We may suspend access where use of the service threatens its security or that of another firm, and will say why when we do.
